UKIAH — A motorcyclist who died in a crash on southbound U.S. Highway 101 south of Ukiah on Sunday night has been identified as Adrian Jimenez, 40, of Salinas, according to the Mendocino County Sheriff-Coroner's Office.

Jimenez was riding a 2019 Harley-Davidson when the collision happened at about 8:23 p.m. on Oct. 25 on southbound 101 near the State Route 253 on-ramp, the California Highway Patrol said. The coroner's office recorded his time of death as 8:32 p.m.

The motorcyclist lost control, was ejected from the bike and was then struck by a vehicle, CHP Officer Olegario Marin said. The other vehicle, a 2026 Kia, was driven by Beatris Briceno, 26, of San Rafael, who remained at the scene, Marin said. No one else was injured.

The southbound lanes were closed for roughly two and a half hours while officers investigated and the wreckage was cleared.

The CHP said there was no immediate information on whether drugs or alcohol were a factor. The crash remains under investigation.
