....Does this seem weird to anyone but me? It looks from the artist rendering that they want to demolish the Rite Aid/ Payless/ Safeway building and build something new?. At how many millions of dollars and where is that stream of 'funny money' going to appear from?....
I figure it would be for different activities... arcade, pool tables, other games... probably mostly for younger folks.... not sure.... but different than Starr. That's a huge building going to waste with an equally large parking lot. It sure does need to be used for something, that's for sure! Any other ideas?
It isn't totally for different activities. In fact, part of the proposal is to create a gym, which will be in direct competition with a long-time local business, the gym by the hospital, threatening its viability. CV Starr also has a small gym. Redundant services make no sense. Why is MCRPD focusing on creating redundant services in FB but not investing in recreation in our other communities, including on the South Coast. Wouldn't a small center in Point Arena make more sense?
I want to correct my earlier comment, although it is moot now that MCRPD voted not to proceed with this proposal. Nothing would have competed, even the gymnasium was for class space like their current martial arts studio and other indoor sports rather than exercise equipment.
I absolutely agree! We've been holding our breath with no results on the building of that new *store*... I have ALWAYS wondered, *Why not use the vacated Rite Aid building*? It all makes no sense at all. I see that the ground is now broken for the Library addition, so I'm guessing that will be completed while they're still scratching their heads about the new *store* being built. What is wrong with this leadership? Use the Rite Aid building!!!! I'm all for that.
Hi, Elise! While I have you... haha... I have forgotten what the city did a couple of years back (something about our sewage tanks? or something) to cause the horrible odor to creep up onto the land every time the temps rise.... I live way to the east, and it started about a week ago... I can't even smell my lovely blooming flowers for the stink of what's happening. I call it the *Stockyard stench*.... Could you please look into this for me... What can we do to make it stop? At first, townspeople complained... and they said... Oh, it's just for a short while....it will stop smelling. Please.... HELP.

Looks like the same building with added front portions...and some solar parking. Looks good!
....If true, you make a good claim now that I really look, then 2nd question, why do we need two locations?....

....Outlet Grocery store, instead of building a new store at Franklin and No. Harbor Dr. to create more traffic to Noyo businesses....
