Our Story

Mendo Local News was founded in August 2025 to address gaps in local news reporting, with a primary focus on coverage essential for effective self-government. Our publication will also highlight reporting funded by the Mendo Local Public Media Foundation. The mission of both Mendo Local News and the Mendo Local Public Media Foundation is to offer accessible, fact-based news and in-depth, on-going coverage of key issues. We also curate a weekly roundup of local news and opinion from various publishers focusing on Mendocino County. Readers can subscribe separately to the weekly roundup by adjusting their account settings.
