Ukiah Parolee Accused of Repeatedly Annoying or Molesting a Minor
Christopher Purtill was on parole for committing lewd and lascivious acts with a child under the age of 14.
Ukiah police have arrested a 36-year-old parolee who engaged in sexually explicit conversations with an undercover agent whom he believed was a 13-year-old boy.
Christopher G. Purtill, lives in Ukiah and is on active parole for committing lewd and lascivious acts with a child under the age of 14, according to a press release from the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office.
The undercover operation took place in April in partnership with the Silicon Valley Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
The arrest, a coordinated effort led by the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office, occurred on May 7. Purtill was initially arrested on charges of violating the conditions of his parole and booked into the Mendocino County Jail.
Based on evidence collected by law enforcement, Purtill is also accused of being a repeat violator of the law that prohibits annoying or molesting a minor.
