Supervisor Ted Williams Wins Another Term
Registrar releases update; just 580 ballots left to count
The Mendocino County Registrar of Voters released an updated vote tally Monday afternoon and reported that just 580 ballots remain to be counted.
District 5 Supervisor Ted Williams leads with 55% of the vote — enough to avoid a runoff election. Even if every remaining ballot were cast for Kevan Evans, Williams’ closest opponent, Williams would still finish with just over 50% of the vote and secure another term.
In District 4, front-runner Buffey Wright Bourassa held a 51-vote lead over Eric Hart. Even if Bourassa received all 580 outstanding ballots, she would finish with only about 41% of the vote — not enough to avoid a runoff against Hart in the November election.
Meanwhile, the Measure A bond measure edged closer to passage. In Mendocino County, the measure has received 54% “yes” votes, while support in Lake County remains at 50%.
Community college bond measures are decided by the combined vote of all voters within the district. Lake County still has 6,487 ballots left to process out of 16,948 ballots cast.
