Man Found Dead at Base of Cliff in Fort Bragg

According to the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched around 8:30 a.m. on April 11, 2026, following reports of a body near the 31000 block of Bay View Avenue.
With assistance from the Fort Bragg Fire Department, responders recovered the remains of an adult male from rocks near the waterline, approximately 70 feet below a steep cliff along the Pacific Ocean. Officials said the man sustained injuries consistent with a significant fall.
Investigators have not identified any suspicious circumstances, and criminal activity is not suspected at this stage. The man’s vehicle was located near the cliff and has been secured as part of the coroner’s investigation.
The decedent has been identified as a 37-year-old man from Yukon, Oklahoma though his name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
An autopsy will be conducted to determine the official cause and manner of death. The case remains under active investigation.
