Mail ballots to reach Mendocino County voters starting May 4
The deadline for registering to vote is May 18
Official ballots for the June 2, 2026 statewide primary election will be mailed to all active registered voters in Mendocino County by Monday, May 4, according to Assessor-County Clerk-Recorder Katrina Bartolomie.
Ballots will also be available beginning May 4 at the County Clerk’s Office, located in Room 1020 of the County Administration Building at 501 Low Gap Road in Ukiah. Voters should expect delivery within five to seven days, though officials say it could take up to 10 days. Anyone who has not received a ballot by May 14 is encouraged to contact the office to request a replacement.
Each mailing will include two large ballots, with contests printed on both sides of the first page and the front of the second. Sample ballots and local voter information booklets have already been mailed and should arrive in the coming days. Voters who do not receive one can request a copy from the elections office.
Officials also reminded residents to update their registration if they have moved. The deadline to register to vote and receive a regular ballot by mail is May 18.
The elections office will offer in-person assistance on Saturday, May 30, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Mendocino County continues to seek poll workers for election day. Workers receive a stipend ranging from $70 for judges and clerks to $80 for inspectors. Each polling location has a precinct board comprised of one (1) inspector, (1) judge and two (2) to (4) four clerks.
More information, including local candidate statements, is available on the county’s elections website or by calling the Clerk’s Office at 707-234-6819.
