Fort Bragg Driver Escapes Injury in Highway 1 Rollover

Traffic was delayed for about an hour on Sunday evening

A Honda Fit rollover blocked the southbound lane of California State Route 1 south of the roundabout for about an hour Sunday evening.

According to CHP spokesperson Officer Olegario Marin, a Honda Fit driven by David Flaim of Fort Bragg overturned after striking an embankment. The vehicle’s airbags deployed, and the 67-year-old driver became trapped inside.

Rescuers extricated Flaim from the vehicle, and the ambulance dispatched to the scene was later canceled.

Marin said the crash was reported at 5:25 p.m., and the roadway was cleared in less than an hour.
