....Not to argue, only to correct, it's the bluff north of Chadbourne Gulch that is in question and I might agree with your presumption about it's demise. Used to live in Westport 45 years ago and watched as this bluff deteriorated and was fixed several times that ultimately failed, so glad these rocks were put in to stop the sliding in the curves south of the actual slide. Blues beach was named for the the creek/bridge/escarpment at Blue Slide Gulch. just south of the 'Blue's beach' near Bruhel Pt. Rd (Hill top Ranch Rd.). Use to surf here and the road from the highway had ruts 18" deep to get to the beach parking lot....
No argument taken. We seem to agree that whole area has been neglected for years.
The Chadbourne Gulch that is being called Blue’s Beach is still a work in progress. The beach level and bluff work is nearly finished.
Enough to open the beach. Now to do the actual road work.
Further north they are calling that Juan creek. Is a slide they have been working on for 2 years.
My concern is to the the south of Chadbourne Creek. Just as HWY 1 straightness out. Major road and shoulder bluff cracking. Very visible from the road.
Go down to “Blues Beach” look up. Scary. Shack your head. Walk further south. Look up. Keep staring. Sometimes you will aware you seen something move. An exaggeration of course.
I recommend not going north of Westport without at least ¾ of a tank of gas.
....Juan Creek is 3-4 miles north of Westport. First Wages Ck., then DeHaven Ck. then Howard Ck, Little Juan Ck and then Juan Ck, subsequently Hardy Ck.. I don't know what you mean. There is possible a problem between Juan Ck. and Hardyl Ck. which is the steepest part above the highway. CalTrans has been working between Chadbourne and Westport for over 50 years and it slumps every 5 or 10 years....
This is such great news. Once again, you are the 1 st to report on it.
Hopefully this bluff just south of there will hold another few years. My money is on less than 5 years. Double or nothing on 10 years is a sure thing.
Says locals and visitors that have seen it up close.

Yes at Wages Ck and road. My mistake I’m a local. Back in Michigan now.
Had to look at the HWY 1 lane closers map To refresh my memory.
