MendoLocal.News is powered by our community and funded by our readers. You make what we do possible. And we want you to know that any support you provide to us during November and December of 2026 will be doubled, and possibly tripled.

We have been selected to participate in INN's NewsMatch — the largest fundraising campaign in the United States. If you want to provide support before then, you are most welcome, and it will be deeply appreciated. But the dollars given in November and December will have the most impact.

Please know that every dollar you give to Mendo Local Public Media — our parent organization — goes to fund local news in Mendocino County. Our current budget of $18,000 allows us to fund the infrastructure that supports MendoLocal.News.

In our first year, we published nearly 400 stories, including a dozen enterprise stories that broke news ranging from questionable arrests by the Fort Bragg Police Department (that were quietly converted to detentions) to a sexual harassment claim brought against a candidate for the Board of Supervisors. We also cleaned up the county's data on exempt assessments by putting together more than 100 separate files. We did all this with one volunteer reporter. We ask you to imagine the impact we can have if we were able to train and fund full-time reporters.
